Cupping Therapy
Cupping is a traditional therapeutic practice designed to help relieve muscle tension, support circulation, and ease discomfort. By gently lifting and decompressing the soft tissue, cupping may encourage lymphatic flow and help reduce fluid retention and areas of congestion. This process can support the body’s natural recovery and promote a greater sense of relaxation and mobility.
Types of Cupping:
Fire Cupping
A lit flame is used to evacuate the air from a glass cup, creating a natural vacuum.
Moving Cups
Often, a silicone cup is pushed along the skin with the help of oils or lotions.
Suction Cups
These cups connect to a pump that manually removes the air. This kind of cupping is great for precise work.
Facial Cups
Smaller, with less suction than a body cup, facial cups can help relieve stress in the face while also enhancing your skin’s natural glow.
What to expect:
Cupping can leave red marks of the treatment area. This is normal and ususally resolves within a week.
A piece of the puzzle:
Cupping is one tool we like to use. The decision to use cupping therapy is a discussion between us and each patient during treatment and may not be suitable for all patients.
